Annie has excellent conformation. She is straight and balanced with a lot of bone and muscle. We expected her to excel in western performance events including cattle class. Nothing seemed to rattle this mare. She had already started her show ring career earning points in halter. Then one day she came in from the pasture limping. We took her to the vet and learned that she had a slab fracture to one of the bones in her knee. After three months of complete stall rest the fracture healed and she is now out on pasture trotting and running around as good as new. But her show ring career is over. So she has entered our broodmare band. Annie had a very pretty filly by Zips Dark Chocolate in March of 2010 and a strongly built colored colt by Zips Strawsam MMR in April 2011. She is bred to Zips Dark Chocolate again for an April 2012 foal.
Annie's sire is Dream Scheme, a Canadian National Champion in Aged Halter Stallion, Junior Western Pleasure, and Hunter in Hand Stallion, and a Reserve Canadian National Champion in Non pro Stallion and Ladies Western Pleasure. He has top ten finishes in both the U.S. National and in the World as well as a number of other impressive awards. He has earned over 56 halter and 30 performance points with the ApHC as well as 25 halter and 75 performance points with the Appaloosas Horse Club of Canada and holds four ROMs. Dream Scheme has produced futurity halter and performance champions, ROM earners, and the Canadian National Champion Hunter in Hand gelding, Schemin Dreamin. His gets are being shown successfully in Canada, the United States, and Europe.
Dream Scheme is by Dreamfinder, a U.S. National and World Champion and the sire of U.S. National, Canadian National, and World Champions, as well as ApHC Versatility Champions. Dreamfinder was inducted into the Appaloosa Hall of Fame in 1996. Dream Scheme's dam holds a ROM in halter and is by Alias Smith and Jones, a successful race horse and supreme champion sire. Dream Scheme is 15.3 H.
Annie's dam is Cheri's Secret. Cheri has been a good broodmare for us and has produced point earners in both halter and performance events. She has sons in California, Texas, and Kansas and Annie's full sister was exported to Canada where she was shown by a ten-year old in multiple events.
Cheri's sire is DF Secret Dynasty, by DF Bright Dynasty, by Deep South (ApHC Hall of Fame, Medallion Winner, stakes winner, Champion 2 and 3 year old race stallion). Secret Dynasty is out of Secret Dancer by the thoroughbred Special Secret (sire of AQHA ROM Race holders as well as an ApHA Stakes winner) by Raise a Native (Champion and Kentucky Derby sire). Cheri's dam is by Silvery Sand (AQHA) by Custus Sandy (AQHA Champion) by Custus Rastus (TB and AQHA Superior Champion Sire). Cheri's second dam is CherryTwist (dam of Cherry's Leader, the Appaloosa Hall of Fame Cutting Horse) who is by Cherry Bounce (AQHA Grand Champion). Cheri's third dam is by Hip Twist by Black Twist (AQHA AA).
Annie had a very well-built, colored colt by Zips Strawsam MMR, Multiple World Champion, in April of 2011 (visit him on his page) and has been bred to Zips Dark Chocolate for 2012. We first saw Zips Dark Chocolate at the 2006 World Show and were immediately impressed. He moves beautifully. He is a World Champion (Hunter in Hand) and twice National Champion (Junior Trail and 3 Yr Old Western Pleasure). His versatility is evident by his numerous Register of Merits including ones in Halter, Hunter in Hand, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure, Trail, and Most Colorful. We were so impressed with Zips Dark Chocolate that we bred Annie's dam to him for a 2008 foal and got a fine colt with lovely movements. In 2009 we bred Annie to Zips Dark Chocolate for the first time and got a very pretty filly. We were so impressed with this filly that we decided to bred Annie to him again this year. Since this breeding was purchased through the Appaloosa Pleasure Horse Association Stallion Service Auction, the result foal will be eligible to participate in the ApPHA Open 2 Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity and the ApPHA Open 3 & Under Hunter Under Saddle Maturity, both of these events are held at the Appaloosa Championship World Show. Monies collected from this auction will be paid out in these classes. We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of this foal. This foal will be for sale.
